A Xhosa girl from the Township of Thembisa was determined to a buy a house and has found an ingenious way to do so and is now making headlines across social media.
The girl(identity withheld) was showered with praises on social media after she managed to ask each of her 20 blessers to buy her an iPhone 7.
She then sold off the phones on GumTree and used the proceeds of the sale to buy her first house.
After receiving the hi-tech devices (which was just released a couple of weeks back), she went to Gumtree where she racked up upwards of R10 000 for each phone and amassed a fortune of over R200 000 within days.
She then used the cash to put down a deposit of a three bed house in Alexandra Township, located near the upper-class suburb of Sandton.
Most people, after reading her story on social media had nothing but praises for her.
One commenter said, “I can’t even find one blesser. She can actually find 20 blessers at the same time and even get them to buy her an iPhone 7. Just want to ask her to teach me such skills.“
A few people, however, condemned her action with someone saying she was “the most shameless person”. Her mother was angry at the treachery their daughter had shown since they are Christians and would not encourage that behavior. Her father on the other hand said he was proud of her.
It was certainly a genius idea, but was it the right thing to do?
